Today I’m taking you Christmas shopping at Braehead with me. I’ve got a couple of Christmas gift guides coming up where I’ll be sharing the best beauty gift sets and books to gift this Christmas. But until then, here are the gift ideas that you simply shouldn’t miss at Braehead this year.
Whenever I head to Braehead, I always start at Primark. And if you’re looking to buy Christmas gifts for the whole family, there is so much to choose from at Primark this year. Not only do they have great gift ideas or presents to treat yourself to. But they’ve really upped their game when it comes to their decorations.
I’m such a big fan of Primark’s character pyjamas and clothing. These Disney Marie pyjamas are right at the top of my Christmas list this year. And as a huge fan of the Gremlins movies I just couldn’t walk by this brilliant men’s jumper.
Speaking of men’s or oversized Christmas jumpers, I loved this Santa’s Little Helper one.
Primark also have quite a few sets that will allow the entire family to match over Christmas. As a bit of a Lisa Simpson myself I was immediately drawn to The Simpsons selection with Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie choices for every family member. They also had Disney Mickey and Minnie Mouse ones too.
Much like with the decorations, Primark have nailed it when it comes to toys this year. And they’re not just for the little ones. The amount of happiness and nostalgia seeing The Powerpuff Girls gave me was hard to describe. They also had so many Disney stuffed animals and characters. From Stitch, Bambi, Thumper, Dumbo and Lady and the Tramp to Minnie and Mickey Mouse, you’ll find something for every little or big kid.
Disney fans will definitely be in their element shopping at Primark this Christmas.
I was also over the moon to see this chunky knit throw in the Home section. I’ve wanted one of these for what feels like years now but they were always incredibly expensive. So Primark have really come to the rescue with this one priced at under £25 in a lovely grey hue.
After a good wander around Primark, I headed next door to Boots.
Their 3 for 2 across gifts that have one of the little green present stickers makes shopping so easy and cost effective. Every year I have to pick up a few from Soap & Glory. And this It’s All In Hand set seems perfect after a year of sanitising our hands and now the cold weather outside.
Again, as a huge fan of Marie from The Aristocats, with my Mum being the exact same, I was over the moon to see a Skinnydip x Marie section in Boots. This gorgeous hot water bottle simply had to come home with us.
Christmas is also a great time to try out some of the bestselling brands and products but at a fraction of the cost of buying the full sizes. Wishful by Huda Beauty have some adorable gift sets this year. And Fenty Beauty’s Glossy Posse has had a shiny makeover for 2021. You might remember the Glossy Posse sets featuring in previous gift guide posts of mine each Christmas.
It’s also so exciting seeing brands like Dr. Jart+ in store at Boots. If you’ve not tried their iconic Ceramidin or Cicapair ranges, now is the time thanks to their fantastic holiday sets.
And I obviously had to mention the great food and drink gift sets at Boots too, all of which also feature in the 3 for 2.
I can’t be the only one who is incredibly excited and happy that Paperchase has now arrived at Braehead. I love popping into Paperchase all year round. But Christmas has got to be my favourite time to visit by far. They always have the quirkiest and most fun cards, decorations and gifts.
If you’re all about embracing the non-traditional when it comes to your Christmas decorations, there are so many fabulous ones to choose from at Paperchase.
My personal favourites; the gumball machine, shiny pink dog and croissant, why of course.
You really can’t beat a Paperchase novelty Christmas card. Cue me getting home and watching Love Actually and Home Alone almost immediately to get me even more in the Christmas mood.
And it’s not a Christmas shopping day for me without a stop at Lush.
Whoever you’re buying for this year, there is something or some scents that they will absolutely adore. I’m a big fan of their pre-packaged gift sets as they always know the best bits to pair together. The lovely lavender scented Sleepy Gift Set will no doubt be a hit with those who love to relax or who are hoping to catch up on some sleep over the festive period.
And who wouldn’t love to count down to Christmas day with twelve days of incredible Lush products?
If you or someone you’re buying for is a fan of the limited edition super sweet Snow Fairy scent, there are more options than ever for you or them to get their fix. I’ve definitely stocked up for the year ahead with some of my favourite products from the range.
I also love that Lush are really embracing gift wrapping ideas as an alternative to using unnecessary plastics. Pick up a festive knot wrap, box or how cute are the cardboard bath bomb holders?
The Marks & Spencer gifting section was giving me some serious Oliver Bonas vibes when it came to their monogrammed ideas. I love this little velvet makeup bag. And the accompanying pouches would make such a lovely gift for a whole range of different people.
For any Harry Potter fans, you will be spoiled for choice at M&S. From chocolates galore to homeware and games, I would definitely head straight for this section if you’re buying for or are a Potterhead yourself.
If you’re looking for a little something at an incredibly affordable price, the M&S Food light up houses are so fun and stylish. I mean, who wouldn’t want a gift that not only includes delicious shortbread biscuits or tea. But that can also be used year round as a little light up decor piece? Available in silver, gold and copper, the latter had to come home with me. I’ll also be picking up one for my Gran.
And how lovely are these mini real Christmas trees? They even had ones festooned in Percy Pig lights!
And of course, you know how much I love a good book and a trip to Waterstones. I’ve actually got a full blog post dedicated to the best books to gift this Christmas which will be going live at the start of December. So be sure to keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks.
Do you prefer to do your Christmas shopping in person or online? Or a combination of the two? And what do you think of some of my top gifting picks this year?
