SKATE UK programme

Braehead operates the SKATE UK programme - it approved by the national Ice Skating Association and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

SKATE UK: this programme is designed for people who are new to skating, as well as those looking to develop their skills. So whether you're a beginner starting at Grade 1, or you're progressing up to Grade 10, you'll fit right in. And it caters to all styles of skating from recreational, to figure and ice hockey.

Skate hire (if required) and practice time (where possible) is included in the cost. A certificate of achievement will be awarded as each grade is attained.

Enrolment for the Grade 1 (beginners) classes listed below will be available from 25 January 2012 and is on a strictly ‘first-come first-served’ basis.

The cost for Grades 1 through to Skate UK Star Gold is £47.50 for 5 x 15 minute lessons with a test on the 5th week. Included in this cost is skate hire, practice time and a certificate.

5.00pm – 5.15pm Grade 1 (JC)
5.00pm – 5.15pm Grade 1 (RM)
5.20pm – 5.35pm Grade 2 (JC)
5.20pm – 5.35pm Grade 3 (RM)
5.40pm – 5.55pm Grade 4 (JC)
5.40pm – 5.55pm Grade 5/6 (RM)
6.00pm – 6.15pm Grade 7 (JC)
6.00pm – 6.15pm Grade 8/10 (RM)

Course dates: 20/2, 27/2, 05/3, 19/3

Test date: THURSDAY 22 March 2012

Grade 1 is for beginners from 5 years of age to adults.  The maximum number in each class will be 12 and the minimum number in each class will be 6.  All courses will run subject to demand and times may be subject to change to meet operational needs. All the above classes will take place in the Arena.
